California Medical Coverage

Due in part to the increasing numbers of immigrants to the state of California, as well as general population growth, the state government has passed several laws to provide CA medical insurance policies and other insurance benefits to people working and residing in California.

California Medical Coverage

California Health Insurance Act

In 2003, the California State Government passed down the California Health Insurance Act, a law that provides insurance coverage to a maximum number of employees along with their families. In other words, it requires that all employers with more than 20 employees must offer a health benefits plan or pay into a state fund that provides insurance to the working uninsured.

California Health Insurance Reliability Act

Another law, the California Health Insurance Reliability Act, was passed to further increase the number of insured Californians. This law has made California health insurance and other health insurance packages readily available to Californian workers at a low cost.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

In 1996, a law was enacted that set the bar for quality CA medical insurance. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 mandates that the health insurance packages of employees and their families must remain intact in the event of job termination or change of profession. Since governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken over, he has continued to enact policies that extend quality medical insurance to the residents and workers of California.
